Description of Workshop
Netflix, TikTok, Snapchat, Cell phones, Video games. What do these have in common? They are distractions. Not only are they distractions but they are often used in conjunction causing the brain to expend more energy than necessary to encode and process the information it is receiving. It is no surprise that teens and young adults multitask regularly adding stress to their developing minds, but it also keeps them from being productive long term because they are learning habits that drain their energy and inhibit deep work. In this workshop students will learn how their brain functions most efficiently, how to schedule their time to maximize their experiences in and out of the classroom, as well as find constructive uses for their so-called distractions in a setting that is appropriate for their goals.
